Well, it’s been a couple of weeks, but I have been really busy yet again. I have had work, shows, and private parties monopolizing a great deal of my time. I really haven’t even had much time to spend with my friends. At least, as of yesterday, I was able to finish my holiday shopping (I think). By the way, going to the mall the last Saturday before Christmas is not always the most pleasant experience in the world. Actually, the mall experience wasn’t too bad. It was just getting into and out of the parking lot that caused such a problem. Anyway. It’s nice to have another day off. Those seem to come few and far between these days.

Moving along. Chanukah was cool this year. We didn’t all get together like we normally would, but at least my dad and I were able to light the candles together almost every night this year. I only got a couple of gifts so far though. One of my best friends got me a coffee maker for work though. I believe, with the exception of shoes, I have never gotten a gift that I have gotten so much use out of. My folks have been asking me what I want from them, but I always hate answering that because I never really know. I got my dad some shirts though which he really liked, and I got my mom a Star Trek book chronicling the original TV series. She seemed to like that a lot as well. I am going up to visit my brother on the 25th for an overnight trip. I am hoping to see one of my good friends in Austin since I got something for him as well.

I suppose there is not much more to catch up on for now. Whatever you celebrate, I wish a truly happy holiday season to you all.

Until next time…

It certainly has been an interesting holiday weekend so far. I was very busy at work and spent a lot of time with my family and still more to come.

As you may have noticed, yesterday was quite a busy day for work. I worked this morning as well including getting some extra hours in on both days. Yesterday was volunteer, but it was also holiday pay (x1.5). I had a rental show Thursday night, and I have another rental show tomorrow. Then, there is always T-Bones on Saturday nights. Unless you don’t count the couple of hours it will take to setup and take down the rental show tomorrow, I will not have a complete day off of work until next Sunday, and Tuesday will be the only night between now and then that I don’t have a karaoke show or rental. Oh well though. It’s money.

If course, with it being Thanksgiving weekend, I have spent a lot of time with my family as well. My mother, father, a friend of the family, her daughter, and I had a small dinner Thursday night. Then, last night, My folks, my brother, his wife, and I all went over to my Aunts house for the family and friends Thanksgiving dinner. I saw some family members of course including my grandmother whom I always enjoy spending time with. Not too many people are lucky enough to be in their mid thirties and still have a grandparent around. I also got to hang out with my cousin and her boyfriend last night, and they will come out to my karaoke show tonight as well.

Of course, the big news of last night was the announcement of my brother and his wife’s child’s sex. That is whether they are having a boy or a girl. They decided to make a cake, and the color on the inside of the cake would be indicative of the gender of the child. The amusing part of this was everybody joking about how they wanted to eat fast to get to the cake quickly. So, it finally came time for the ‘ceremony.’ They decided to let my grandmother be the one to cut the cake. She sliced into the cake, and, with the pull of the first slice, we all saw the pink interior of the cake to let us know the child would be a girl. We would have all been happy either way, but this was still fun.

That is all for now. I hope all of you had a truly wonderful Thanksgiving. Until next time…

So, today at Hostgator, they are having a 50% off special on the first invoice of hosting plans for new clients. However, there was an additional special from 5:00 AM till 9:00 AM (or while supplies lasted) of 80% off of the same. Here’s where the fun comes in. Hostgator is an international company. While supplies lasted was apparently less than three minutes. For at least two hours after 5:00 AM, we were receiving so many calls and chats that everyone in the company, sales, support, security, system administrators, and supervisors, were all taking chats and answering phone calls just to try to decrease the volume, and we still had 150 waiting chats and at least 10 to 15 waiting phone calls at practically any given time.
It was a great morning for the company as well though. We beat out Wal-Mart, Best Buy, and Black Friday in Google searches. Still, I am glad that my work day is over.
Well, I just had to get that off my chest. I am off to go out and find some sales of my own. Until next time…
